The Journalist speaks:
A landslide victory of development greeted Bihar today. Nitish Kumar, the incumbent CM of the state, has created an incredible history. The biggest ever victory in the hindi heartland. The era of Bihari pride is back. The Biharis are happy and welcomed Nitish Kumar whole heartedly again as their leader.
Addressing a press conference after they announced the gigantic 198/243 count, Nitish Kumar said, he is no magician, he believes in working hard. Shockingly, women voters outnumbered men voters in this result. He pointed out this fact and counted down the 3 sections of bihar, women, youth and the people standing down the ladder, obviously talking about the EBCs and mahadalits. This statement, I believe, has far more implications than seen, not only in Bihar but outside the boundaries of the state. He said that this one is the victory of the Bihari people and now, rests a bigger responsibility on his shoulders. He bluntly ignored all the questions of prime ministership and any such speculation. The man is focused to do some serious developments. He believes in taking the development train forward.
Nitish Kumar looked grounded and satisfied. He has been a serious man and today too, he emphasized that Bihar is no comic series or a poster to be laughed on. A 200 mandate can easily corrupt a political leader but Kumar talked earthly things. Though, in his press conference he talked in ‘I’ and ‘me’ proving all the allegations of his pro-presidential form of govt right. For somebody as humble and intellectual like him, a little arrogance of that sort is totally allowed. After all, it was a one man show in Bihar. Yet we just can not rule out the 89% strike rate of BJP. People of Bihar were out on the roads all through the day celebrating the victory of development and as they say, the Bismarck of Bihar. He had talked about getting ahead of the caste divide, the ratio of votes and this victory loudly speaks of this fact. This is an era of Bihari sub-nationalism. To hell with koiris and Kurmis and yadavs and bhumihars. They are just the Biharis, at once.

Victory
The Bihari Speaks:
I could not sleep the last night out of this anxiety of Poll results. No fun, this fear lied in the heart of every Bihari, fear of losing the development train. But, like Nitishji said, we won.
It was an immense pleasure to see the ever-increasing seats of the NDA alliance in the vote tally on my television set. Finally, towards 1220 hours I saw a jaw-dropping 200/243 count. It was almost like a festival in my home. People were calling and congratulating each other. I was relieved. I opened Facebook on my netbook and saw updates of friends and family. These were happy updates. Everyone wanted him to be back. And, he was back with a big Bang. A strange sense of protection touched me. My Chief Minister was back into power. I was eagerly waiting for his press conference which was scheduled to happen at 0200 hours. News channels were full of praises and analysis of the this mandate. Every thing was falling into the right place. I saw him appearing on my television set at 0200 hours. Quiet, calm and satisfied, he was my intellectual leader. I listened to him. He was hopeful and promised that he will be leading this development wave from the front like he did in the last 5 years. Can’t wait to see him again as the CM of Bihar.
Every bihari believes in him. He has given us the hope. He is the one who invoked the ‘bihari-asmita’, a forgotten phrase. Sir, we salute you and we will stand by you.
An alien thought just struck me. We need another Nitish Kumar, this time for India. No not the same man, he is Bihar’s own and no doubt the best CM throughout the country.
Quoting his line from the press conference. “राजनीति में प्रतिस्पर्धा अच्छी है, सवाल यह उठता है की ये प्रतिस्पर्धा कैसी हो? निश्चय ही विकास के मुद्दे पर हो.”
Now, what?
New hopes, carrying forward old developments, new jobs, industries, electricity… Oh! we have huge expectations from this government. And, why not! He talks about the same. A developed Bihar by 2015? It is a distant dream, that must come true.
