Cold Nostalgia

Da Ri Ra,,, Ra Ra Ri Ra… Pa Pa Ra Ri… Daaa Ri Raa…

She sips coffee from her new mug as this nostalgic music melts into her earphones. Whiteness of chill has covered the atmosphere in its blanket. The coy green leaves of trees around are afraid to flutter. Fog has fallen whitely, beautifully and piously. as it appears from her balcony on the second floor. The cold air of emptiness is churning her feelings down to a frozen impending desire. Pearls of separation slowly descend down her lower eyelashes, drop after drop.

A drop of nostalgia fell to take her to an hour ahead. In this hour of her own, she is the queen of her desire. She walks on the marble floored shipping yard to search him. He, who is headed to manage a whirlwind of Kingdoms. He, who is the king of kingdoms. She looks for him everywhere. She runs to counters, to gigantic ships, to yachts less visible in the fog above the frozen sea. He is nowhere. She is tired, she is lonely but a spark of hope, the unsaid presence of him keeps her going.

She stands near the sea against the winds to emptiness.

Tearing apart the white blanket of fog, a small boat appears cruising towards her. On the boat is, him, in his kingly attire, in her kingship of their kingdom. She smiles in delight. He comes towards her smiling. She could not wait and runs into him. She hugs him. Stealthily she looks into his twinkling eyes, his reddish white face and into a small cut of his upper lip towards the right end. Her king looked handsome as ever! He snugs her face within his warm hands and falls into a warm kiss. A warm kiss on her lips. She feels the warmth right there. She feels the sweetness right there. Only after tasting the sweetness of his lips, she realizes that she is still sipping coffee in her balcony of the second floor. Cold nostalgia chills her spine and the rosy winters appear empty once again.

Still, she smiles. Of the days that passed. Of the hour ahead. Of the time yet to come.

Hypnotized

The giant christmas cake, the festivity, uncles, aunts, friends, stockings, sweaters, the grand party, the excellent food, colors, red and green and white and blue. I saw all of them moving from my sides, vigorously as if I was travelling in a time machine. All of a sudden, I was pulled backward. Everything began to vanish in the chaos, rapidly. I closed my eyes tightly, clutching the window sill which was still visible. I felt like flying in a time paradox. Then, everything stopped.

Starting at Forever

I opened my eyes. An empty endless road greeted me. Glittering street lights were lit in a row that vanished in the fog after I counted them nine. The white pure fog was visible around me. I felt the cold on my face. I looked at the sky. Nothing but the giant golden moon was visible. Dew fell like tiny pearls on the leaves of trees. Nature had painted a beautiful painting. I smiled, spontaneously. Cold winds brushed past me. My palms went senseless. I was shivering. The chilliness of cruel winter winds was increasing every minute. I was getting sick of this cold until something warm from behind touched my senseless palm. I turned in a reflex; to find, him. His warm nerves soothed mine cold ones. His touch was familiar. The same warm hands of someone who belongs to me! My palm was all in sense now. I drew it back from his hold. He smiled slyly and pulled me closer.

Closer I went into his arms to see him. His live eyes which had a picture of mine. The reddish sharp nose and full lips which whispered my name. Upper front hairs which flew to my eyes with winds of love. And, all those contours of his face, sculpted in perfection. Oh! was it just the perfection?! After every blink, I saw a new thing to admire as he looked at me without blinking. I tried to steal my gaze away. But the closeness inched every passing second. The warmth was irresistible. I started loosing myself into his tenderness. The chilly fog surrounded us. And, the divinity followed. The cold became warm as he touched me. His sweet smile made me shy to smile back. Words, we did not say but they say, eyes never lie. He heard the echo of my silence. I listened to his unheard thoughts. The two halves made one complete soul; to never part. He took my hand in his as I smiled at him. I held it tightly to capture the warmth. I was submerged into his eyes and I never wanted to come out of it. Slowly, I slept in his arms to wake up into reality. The cold reality. I began to loose the warmth. My palms started getting cold. And, colder.

Then I realized that the window sill was cold and it was driving my palms out of sense. The music was loud. Carols of joy, I heard. People were greeting each other. Party was in its full colour. I found myself near the window and outside, was an empty endless road. Someone called me from the banquet hall. I went there, soulless. Because, he took my soul away.

An Eternal Desire

He rushed into his car. The chilly winter night had stopped the traffic. He wanted to hurry. But, the fog was not letting him do so. He closed his eyes and saw her; her pretty face yearning for him. He looked the scene from his window. Winter looked beautiful as she appeared into the haze. He wanted to reach to her. The cold was chilling his heart. The slow moving lights in the foggy night glittered like her smile.  He raced down the street to see his beloved.

…………….

Wait

The candles flickered as the winter breeze rushed into her room. Her face glowed in the momentary flash of light, seizing the darkness of the pretty night. She was lost in his thoughts, smiling gently. The warmth of her passionate thoughts conquered the cold night every time the curtains blew high to make her shiver.

…………….

The winter failed to daunt the tiny sparks, of the numerous candles and of the affectionate two. Far from each other, yet connected through thoughts. Love persisted in the cold world or, the cold world drew them together. The lovely night was yet to see the passion.

……………..

The shooting stars were occasionally visible through the miasma of the hazy night; one moving towards the farther other one. The sound of the wind-chime hung at the gate of balcony swayed into her ears as he gently crept in.  Her eyes lit up. She smiled and turned about in a reflex, to find him just behind her…  so close.. just like the intimacy of the heart and the heartbeat. She looked at him. The sculpted dream of  godliness absorbed her in his arms. He smiled at her. She hugged him tightly. The wait had finally ended.  The happiness of being together was pouring through. The closeness of hearts was increasing every passing second. The touch, the smile, the hypnotized eyes. White faced doves, the epitome of love. The threads of wall saw the two vines entwined, lovingly.

The Eternal Desire.

The couple sat between candles to cherish the moment of sweetness. The time faded away, the music played as the winter became warm and the breezes took them higher. Lost in each other, they lived every flash of the beautiful time. He laughed in her and she smiled in him. Too much with each other, they forgot the cold world. And, the cold world smiled at them, for they were the sole ones, living an eternal desire.

He?

Hazy Winter Evening

It was a saturday eve, when outta boredom, I went out for a round of walk. The sun was buried behind the clouds in a way that no Sun but only the clouds existed. It was misty. It seemed that only I dared to challenge the winter. For the first time, I loved the emptiness on the way. When I looked at the grey never-ending curved roads through the fog, for a while, I felt that those led to heaven on the other side of white beautiful haze. The trees on the sides of road looked greener, after the dew washed their leaves, and the ones that fell from their parent tree were wet and seemed to be breathing once again. At intervals, cold winds blew, causing me and the fog to shiver and the miasma danced on the rhythm of the winds. No, I did not dance, I simply shivered clutching my shawl tighter than before and adjusting the hairs under my woolen cap.

The picturesque surrounding kept me walking until I saw a fellow, a few meters away from me in the fog. I tried to look clearly into the haze. My mind dashed an alert, ‘you should stay away from strangers.’ I deserted the alert at the other second and went closer. I could see a tall guy, around my age, dressed in blue denim and plain black jacket. He had a wide bosom. He had muffled his head and neck in a way that only the part above the his lips, of the face were visible. A few strands of his hairs hovered around his forehead periodically with the winds. His truthful eyes went curious when they met mine. His eyebrows were pulled together and his spectacles moved a bit upward as he tried to look at me and then back to normal as if, mine, was a familiar face. He, then unwrapped his muffler and I could see his pale-golden face. I knew him!

I saw the miasma parting away and  felt a strange warmth in the chilly evening, the warmth of his presence. He gazed at me standing a foot away. It was an unusual gaze, in a way that it bound my eyes to look at him without twinkling. His visage shone to every movement of his nerves. The winter imparted a reddish shade to his pale-golden nose. A tiny smile, to the left, spread on his face. I, too,  smiled in-turn in a pink-ish way. He came a step closer to me and took my hand in his. His hands were as warm as his presence. He adjusted his long fingers between my smaller ones, pulled my hand and held it tightly. The solemn evening appeared charming as ever. For that moment, everything vaporized within the hazy winter.

Two souls, one heart

Hey! It’s getting late. Lets walk to home.” A familiar voice disrupted my fairy tale from far behind. I turned about to the call shifting my gaze which he had hypnotized. “Dad?” I said in a surprise. “What? Whom were you expecting?” he said as he came closer. My heart sank thinking of the aftermath of the encounter that was going to happen between my dad and him. “Dad.. he is..” I turned to him for an introduction session but, POOFFFFF! he was nowhere! “He? Who? You are fine, right?” Dad asked looking at me, worried. “No.. I mean yes..” I once looked at my father and then to the place where he stood and then again. And, again. Nothing except the fog existed. My father blinked to my strange actions and then, pulled me towards home. “I think you are not well, see, I told you to stay inside. It’s very cold out.” He said adjusting my shawl and then the cap. He kept on advising all through the way and I kept on checking the way back, where I was with him a few moments ago; into nothingness. The warmth was gone and I felt the cold winds once again.
